Quality

Quality sits inside production

Seven checks before dispatch, and any of them can stop the batch.

  1. 01

    Dimensional check

Width, gusset and height against the ordered size; a deviation stops the batch.

  2. 02

    Print quality

Plate marks, registration and density. Where detail drops out of a photographic image shows here.

  3. 03

    Colour consistency

Against the brand colour, or against Pantone where one was given. The start and the end of a run are compared.

  4. 04

    Glue-line quality

Side seam and base. On a bag meant for heavy goods the base tires before the body does.

  5. 05

    Handle strength

How the twisted handle holds to the body under load. What is looked for is not where the handle breaks but where the paper tears.

  6. 06

    Carton and packing check

Count, stacking and protective packaging. A carton counted wrong here is counted at the customer.

  7. 07

    Final inspection before dispatch

By sample from the batch: after loading there is nothing left to correct.

What moves the lead time

Production takes 21 days on average. On average, because it moves with:

  • Order quantity
  • Bag dimensions
  • Number of print colours
  • Custom production requests
  • Shipment planning

Before a season — Ramadan, New Year, back to school — bring the plan forward by three or four weeks.

Before ordering

  1. 01The dimensions of what goes in the bag — the product's, not the bag's.
  2. 02A logo or design file, vector if possible (.ai, .pdf, .svg).
  3. 03Brand colour codes (Pantone is the most exact).
  4. 04An approximate quantity and a delivery date.
